Our story
Rob and Sharyn's love for the country and the land led them to discover AppleGum Valley during a chance drive to The Hunter Valley. Captivated by its beauty, they purchased the farm in September 2014. AppleGum Valley is a working farm that breeds and supplies Angus cattle to the Australian market. In addition to their farming operation, Rob and Sharyn have transformed the barn on their property into a stunning wedding venue.
The barn, with its white mahogany posts and recycled timber lining, exudes warmth and charm. Marble and stone bathrooms add an element of elegance and class. The barn also features rescued wagon wheel lights from a vintage burned carriage, disabled facilities, and paved ramps to ensure inclusivity. Sharyn's love for roses is evident in the collection of old English David Austin roses in white and blush, as well as a beautiful white may bush, which adds to the romantic ambiance of the venue.
The vintage dining chairs have been carefully collected, each with its own story of migrating families. At the entrance of the barn, a cast bronze fountain named "Four Dancing Ladies" brings water and movement, serving as a celebration piece. Rob and Sharyn are passionate about sharing the beauty of Applegum Valley with others, and the weddings held at the barn support the continued farming operation in the Hunter Valley.
