 Our Story

Rob and Sharyn fell in love with AppleGum Valley after a chance drive to The Hunter Valley. Sharing a passion for the country and the land, they purchased their farm AppleGum Valley in September 2014. The farm is located in the lower Hunter Valley on their private property. AppleGum Valley is a working farm, breeding and supplying Angus Hunter cattle to the Australian market. The barn at AppleGum Valley is now available for a limited number of weddings each year by application. Sharyn and Rob wish to make their couples day a truly special day to remember.

The operation of the barn from the weddings provided will in turn support the continued farming operation locally in the Hunter Valley. AppleGum Valley’s barn features beautiful white mahogany posts with recycled timber lining the barn giving the barn a beautiful warm feel along with marble and stone bathrooms built to add a sense of elegance and class. The barn also contains other saved precious items such as the beautiful wagon wheel lights that were rescued from a vintage burned carriage during a bush fire and has also been modified with inclusion of all in mind with disabled facilities and paved ramps. Sharyn has a passion for roses and the barn has a collection of old English David Austin roses in white and blush along with a stunning white may bush adding romance and enhancing the truly magical feel of this beautiful land.

The vintage dining chairs have been a labour of love to collect and bring their own stories of the journeys migrating families. The fountain at the entrance of the barn is cast bronze named by the artist as Four Dancing ladies, bringing water and movement in such a wonderful sculptured celebration piece. After that chance drive to The Hunter Valley coming across Applegum Valley, Rob and Sharyn always knew with its truly picturesque views they just had to share this experience of Applegum Valley where they dreamed their dreams, began their cherished journey of love, family and farm life.
